Pune: Even 22 years after his death, spiritual mystic Osho, or Bhagwan Rajneesh, continues to spark controversy. This time, the issue is not sex, which always shadowed his name, but something even sexier: the fate of prime real estate belonging to the Osho International Foundation (OIF) at Koregaon Park, Pune, estimated at a value of around Rs 1,000 crore.

In recent weeks, what has grabbed the attention of the public – especially the community of his followers – is the incredulous gifting of prime properties by the OIF to an unknown trust in New Delhi, called the Darshan Trust.

The Osho Commune, renamed Osho International Meditation Resort after his death, is located at Koregaon Park along with other Osho properties spread on 25-30 acres of land and controlled by the OIF.

At a time when politicians, builders, generals and brigadiers are found involved in one land-grab scam after another, here is this extraordinarily generous OIF which seems to be on a property-gifting spree, claiming that maintaining and managing these properties has become a burden.

Opposing them are another set of Osho followers who have accused the OIF trustees of maladministration and complained to the Charity Commissioner, Mumbai.

The matter was exposed in recent months by two, long-time followers of Osho, Yogesh Thakkar (Swami Prem Geet) and Kishor Raval (Swami Prem Anadi), who discovered OIF’s application dated 19 September 2011, to the Charity Commissioner, Mumbai, under section 36(1)(a) of the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950.

This application, signed by OIF trustee Mukesh Sarda, proposed to gift six units in Little Woods Coop Housing Society, plot number 22, Koregaon Park, to New Delhi-based Darshan Trust with its registered office at A-34, Defence Colony.

Sarda’s application on behalf of OIF said that the Darshan Trust had approached OIF “with a request for some space to accommodate the teachers and participants of its activities in Pune” and that the matter was discussed in detail at a meeting of the trustees on 14 August 2011.

As per documents submitted by the OIF to the Charity Commissioner, Sarda stated at this meeting that the the 6,611-square-foot property was “excess space”, not needed by the OIF. He also said that the OIF was finding it unaffordable to maintain and repair this property as it was not deriving any income from it.

The OIF trustees then decided unanimously at the 14 August meeting to donate the property to Darshan Trust subject to the approval and sanction of the Charity Commissioner. The condition stipulated was that the stamp duty, registration and other expenses towards “the alienation of the property” be borne by Darshan Trust.

Armed with documents obtained under the Right to Information Act, 2005, Thakkar and Raval questioned the gift proposal and filed a petition with the Charity Commissioner, challenging the OIF application. They were soon joined by another senior Osho follower, Nitin Phulphagar (Swami Nitin Bharati), in challenging various activities of the OIF, even as Osho followers within and outside the country began extending support.

While in the midst of this battle, Thakkar and Raval were shocked when they stumbled upon a 17 March 2011 decision of Charity Commissioner MK Chaure approving another OIF proposal to gift plot CTS No 3, Koregaon Park, Pune to the same Darshan Trust.

Measuring 5,387 sq m, this plot is located in Lane No 1 Koregaon Park, and was being used as a parking lot for the Osho Meditation Resort. According to the Osho disciples, the market value of this plot is estimated at more than Rs35 crore.

The reasons given by the OIF for gifting this property (excess space not required) and the conditions laid down for the transaction (Darshan Trust to bear cost of stamp duty, etc.) were similar to the previous application.

The OIF has never felt it necessary to explain these controversial gift deeds or reply to criticism. Whenever asked for an explanation by this journalist, OIF’s trustee and member (management team) Sadhana Belapurkar has restricted herself to saying that “the matter is subjudice.”

Another issue that worries Osho’s followers and admirers concerns his samadhi inside the meditation resort. After he was cremated in Pune on the night of 19 January 1990, Osho’s ashes were collected and put in an urn which was buried in his bedroom. This became his Samadhi, beautified with wall-sized glass windows, marble walls and flooring and an impressive circular chandelier.

The samadhi has a special significance in eastern cultures and naturally Osho’s followers and others want the sanctity of this place respected for all times.

However, the OIF, controlled by a group of his foreign followers, has a different view. Represented by Sadhana Belapurkar (also known as Amrit Sadhana), the OIF management went so far as to say in an interview to this journalist that it was “a mistake” on their part to use the word “samadhi”. As she explained, “We do not call it a samadhi. It is called Chuang Tzu (hall) where Osho gave his first lectures after arriving in Pune in 1974. As per Osho’s wishes, his ashes were put in an urn and buried there.”

Like all samadhis in India, Osho’s admirers who respect him for his many incisive commentaries on spiritualism, his emphasis on meditation and acceptance of sexuality, want the samadhi to be made accessible to the public. That has not happened so far.

These and many other issues were raised by Thakkar and Raval with the Charity Commissioner.

On 7 December 2011, Thakkar, Raval and Phulphagar applied for interim relief to the charity commissioner through an application alleging irregularities by the OIF management. The application alleged that some OIF trustees had formed a new company “Osho Multimedia & Resorts Pvt Ltd” in which they had vested interests. Those named as opponents in the application included Mukesh Kantilal Sarda (Swami Mukesh Bharti), Devendra Singh Devol, Sadhana Belapurkar, Lal Pratap Singh; Inner Circle Chairman Michael Byrne (Swami Jayesh); Inner Circle Vice-Chairman George Meredith alias John Andrews (Swami Amrito); and Inner Circle member Darcy Byrne (Swami Yogendra). (The Inner Circle is an informal group of Osho community individuals who run the show at OIF).

On another front, Thakkar and Raval have created a website www.oshowork.org to gather support for their crusade for transparency in the affairs of the OIF.

This is by far, the biggest battle between the opposing factions of Osho’s followers in recent years. The last big clash was the “copyright battle” which was lost by the OIF some years ago in its attempt to claim intellectual property rights over the word “Osho” and everything attributed to the spiritual master.

Osho Trust gifts ‘excess land’ to unknown entity

Pune: Unknown to most followers of the late spiritual leader, Osho Rajneesh, the Osho International Foundation (OIF) has gifted one of its prime properties in Koregaon Park here to the mysterious New Delhi-based Darshan Trust, which has links with a key OIF trustee, Mukesh Sarda.

This is even as Sarda, on behalf of the OIF, has made another application to the charity commissioner in Mumbai to gift the 6,611-square-foot ‘Osho Sanai’ property on Plot No. 22 in Koregaon Park, to the same trust.

Two Osho followers — Yogesh Thakkar (Swami Prem Geet) and Kishor Raval (Swami Prem Anadi) — who contested this application along with another disciple, Nitin Phulphagar (Swami Nitin Bharati) in challenging various activities of the OIF, made the startling discovery of the first gift application recently.

Certified documents from the charity commissionerate, in the possession of DNA show that in December 2010, the OIF applied to the charity commissioner seeking permission under section 36(1)(a) of the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950, to gift plot CTS No.3 in Koregaon Park to Darshan Trust, located at A-34, Defence Colony, New Delhi.

This plot, measuring 5,387 square metres in Lane No1 in Koregaon Park, presently serves as an expansive parking lot for the Osho International Meditation Resort, which has a number of properties in this area. The market value of this plot of land is estimated at more than Rs35 crore.

The proposal to gift the land was sanctioned and approved by the charity commissioner, MK Chaure, on March 17, 2011. According to the OIF application, the trustees of Darshan Trust approached OIF “for some space to expand and carry out its activities in Pune” and this matter was discussed in detail by the OIF trustees during a meeting on December 1, 2010.

During this meeting, Sarda stated that the OIF had excess space on CTS No 3 in Koregaon Park plot “which at the moment is not required” by the foundation. Besides, the OIF was incurring expenses on the maintenance of this plot without deriving any income from it.

The application stated that “after detailed discussion and deliberation it was unanimously resolved that it would be in the interest of the OIF and in furtherance of its objects to donate the Plot CTS No 3 in Koregaon Park, Pune, that is available and not required by the foundation to Darshan Trust, subject to the approval and sanction of the office of the charity commissioner.”

The condition laid down was that the stamp duty, registration charges and other expenses towards the alienation of the property would be borne by Darshan Trust and that the entire process of gifting the property would be handled by Mukesh Sarda.

While the trustees of Darshan Trust were identified as Vidya Khubchandani and Anandkumar Awasthi, those of OIF were identified as Mukesh Sarda, Devendra Singh Deval, Sadhana Belapurkar and Lal Pratap Singh.

In his application, Sarda stated that the OIF was not issuing any public notice about its proposal to gift the property as “the trustees have unanimously resolved to donate the said property to another public trust having similar objects…”

He also stated that no valuation report of the property was obtained as the property was being donated to carry out charitable activities. After conducting a hearing in Sarda’s presence, the proposal was sanctioned and approved by the charity commissioner by his order dated March 17, 2011.

The OIF controls the Osho International Meditation Resort in Pune, spread out over 35 acres of prime property in Koregaon Park. Osho’s samadhi with his ashes is located on these premises.

Originally established on a 5-acre plot after the then Acharya Rajneesh moved base from Mumbai to Pune in the mid 1970s, the erstwhile Osho Commune gradually expanded to its current size.

Pune: Once again, disturbing facts have come to light with regard to the Osho International Foundation (OIF), which controls valuable assets, including an estimated Rs 1,000 crore worth of prime property, and which conducts its affairs in high secrecy.

The government and the citizens need to decide whether there is need to demand greater transparency from OIF, whether Osho's samadhi in Koregaon Park needs to be opened to the public, and whether the properties of this trust should be nationalised to safeguard the interests of Osho's followers.

Ever since the spiritual mystic, Osho Rajneesh, died in Pune on January 19, 1990, one controversy after another has been dogging the OIF. First, Osho's followers split into two factions, with one group (led by three foreigners) taking full control of the OIF properties. The other group, comprising mainly Indians, left the commune on their own or were forced to do so.

The two factions clashed bitterly over OIF's attempt to copyright Osho meditations and intellectual property, but this was rejected by a US court.

While the OIF has certainly beautified the premises and transformed it into an international meditation resort, not all are happy with the changes. Access to the premises is highly restricted, daily entry fee has been increased sharply and many traditions discontinued.

OIF's latest bid to gift a valuable property of nearly Rs 8 crore to an obscure Darshan Trust in New Delhi has not only been challenged by Osho's followers, but has also revealed links between OIF and this trust.

Clearly, someone needs to move the government or the courts to protect what belongs to the community of Osho's followers before it is too late.

All three have questioned this gift deed application, at a time when the OIF spokesperson, Amrit Sadhana, admitted to mortgaging property no. 9 against a bank loan to raise funds for renovation and upgradation.

The application signed by OIF trustee Mukesh Sarda (September 19, 2011) has been made under section 36(1)(a) of the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950. It proposes to gift "six units" in Little Woods Co-op Housing Society, plot number 22, Koregaon Park, to New Delhi-based Darshan Trust with its registered office at A-34, Defence Colony.

The property is named 'Osho Sanai' with single-storey bungalows in Lane 1. At that meeting, OIF trustee, Mukesh Sarda, informed that the 6,611-square-foot property at Koregaon Park Plot No. 22 was "excess space", which was not required by the OIF to fulfill its objectives. Also, that the OIF was incurring expenses to maintain and repair this property without deriving any income from it.

It was decided unanimously at this meeting that the property would be donated to Darshan Trust subject to the approval and sanction of the charity commissioner and provided the stamp duty, registration and other expenses towards the alienation of the property was borne by Darshan Trust.

The aims and objectives of Darshan Trust were stated as education, teaching of yoga, meditation and philosophy and medical relief, among other activities of public utility.

According to the application, in 1997, this property comprising six units in Little Woods Co-op Housing Society Ltd, was received as gift by six different foundations. The 10-page application states that a number of trusts were amalgamated in the OIF at various points of time, "for better administration and management and carrying out the common activities of the trusts…"

Thus, in 1996, Blue Lotus Trust was amalgamated into OIF, and in 2003, five trusts — Satyam Foundation, Shivam Foundation, Maneesha Trust, Sambhodhi Foundation and Sundaram Foundation — were amalgamated with OIF. In 2008, Abhilasha Foundation was merged into OIF, and in 2011 the Dhyan Foundation followed suit. The trustees of OIF were stated as Mukesh Sarda, Devendra Singh Dewal, Sadhana Belapurkar and Lal Pratap Singh.

Pune: The property dispute around the Osho International Meditation Resort's (erstwhile Osho Commune) estimated Rs 1,000-crore real estate in Pune has triggered a worldwide networking buzz among Osho's followers after an exclusive report by DNA on Sunday.

Many followers from across the country and abroad have expressed eagerness to protect the property from land sharks with strong political connections in Pune and Mumbai, in response to a petition filed by two Osho followers with the charity commissioner in Mumbai.

"We have been receiving calls and messages from Gujarat, Delhi, Mumbai and even abroad, pledging support in our fight to protect the Osho trust properties in Pune," said Yogesh Thakkar (alias Swami Prem Geet), one of the petitioners against the application by the Osho International Foundation (OIF).

Thakkar, who was present — along with his co-petitioner, Kishore Raval (alias Swami Prem Anadi) — while speaking to DNA, said they felt overwhelmed by the support from Osho's followers to their initiative to demand transparency in the OIF activities in Pune.

As reported by DNA on Sunday, the two petitioners filed on Wednesday last raised serious objections to OIF's application No. 87/11 [P.T.R. No. F 14570 (M)] filed under section 36 of the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950.

Section 36 of the BPT Act states that "pre-sanction of charity commissioner for sale or mortgage of immovable property of public trust is must, irrespective of whatever is mentioned in the by-laws of the trust".

Their petition states that three prominent trustees of the OIF, all foreigners, were attempting "to sell the trust premises in Pune to politically influenced persons from Pune and Mumbai".

These three individuals were identified in the petition as Michael O'Byrne (alias Swami Jayesh), George Meredith (alias Swami Amrito) and Darcy O'Byrne (Swami Yogendra), leaders of the Osho faction which took full control of the Osho trusts after the mystic's controversial death in his Pune commune on January 19, 1990.

Raising serious objections over the functioning of the Osho trusts Thakkar — who was initiated into sanyas personally by Osho Rajneesh in 1979 — told DNA that the entire decision making lies in the hands of just 3-4 individuals. "Just three foreigners are taking all the decisions and everyone else has been systematically deleted (sic)," he said.

While demanding that the decision-making in the Osho trusts be expanded and democratised, Thakkar and Raval alleged that the common man's access to the Osho Commune, renamed Osho International Meditation Resort, had been made difficult.

"There's an entry fee of Rs 1,000 per day for foreigners and Rs 480 for Indians. There's additional cost for food and other facilities," he said, while demanding that the Osho premises be available to the people at "a reasonable cost such as Rs 100 per day."

When asked by DNA, OIF spokesperson Amrit Sadhana acknowledged that spending a day at the Osho resort would cost about Rs 1,000 per person, which was comparable to lunch in a star hotel or a visit to a multiplex. "These charges include access to more than six meditations in the auditorium which is air-conditioned, besides other facilities," she said.

Thakkar also demanded that Osho's Samadhi, where his ashes have been buried in what was his bedroom at the time of his death, be called as such by the Osho trust authorities. He alleged that the word "samadhi" was being deliberately erased by the authorities to make it easy to sell the property in future or use it for other purposes.

The OIF spokesperson Sadhana vehemently denied this charge. "We do not say that he is dead and therefore we don't use the word samadhi," she said.

Spread over nearly 35 acres, the Osho International Meditation Resort in upmarket Koregaon Park bears special significance for Osho's followers as this was where he did his life's work and where his samadhi with his ashes is located.

There was a big win for religiousness over religion in the US today. Obama is being sworn in and OSHO is free for all to use: it’s a happy New Year indeed.

The US trademark board released it’s decision in the OSHO case today, after 10 years of litigation. The opinion was very strongly worded and unanimous. The board ruled that “OSHO” is used to refer to meditations and the movement that arose around the teachings of the person OSHO. It isn’t a brand of products produced by OSHO International Foundation
in Zurich.

This means that “OSHO” must be available for all OSHO’s people to use to describe what they’re doing. OIF cannot keep others from using OSHO. Every trademark challenged by OSHO Friends was canceled or denied.

This is the best possible decision we could have hoped for. It steps over all the arguments about who owned what trademarks and whether anyone licensed anyone else. In essence, this decision simply says that there is no trademark. Since the name “OSHO” means a certain
approach to meditation and a whole movement, it can’t be a trademark for anyone, ever.

All the witnesses that OSHO Friends called were cited in the footnotes of the decision, but there were particular quotes from the testimony of Dhanyam (Rosansky), Krishna Priya (Hemenway), and Maniko (Dadigan). Although hearings were scheduled on October 7 and 20, in connection with objections raised to the gift proposal, OIF representatives skipped them. The spokesperson for the trust, Amrit Sadhana, declined to give details and sent a cryptic message, “The matter is sub-judice.”

This has triggered a buzz among the sanyasins.

“We are getting support from across the world. Followers from Germany, Thailand, UK, Japan and other countries are in touch with us and are extending their support to our campaign to save the Osho premises in Pune. This is for the first time that someone has challenged the functioning of the commune trust on legal grounds with supporting proof,” said Thakkar.

The questions that are circulating through various postings on networking sites are: Who has the rights to the estimated Rs1,000-crore Osho Commune property in Koregaon Park? Is it not time for sanyasins to ask for financial transparency about the workings of this temple of meditation? Does the secular government of India not have any responsibility towards spiritual heritage places such as this?

Questions are also being asked by followers if this is the first step towards winding it up: Is the Commune broke? Is it just a property deal, or an attempt to shut shop? Why such magnanimity of gifting commune property?

Pune’s Osho Commune is embroiled in controversy since the past few days regarding its petition in the Charity Commissioner’s office in Mumbai to “gift’’ a part of its property to an obscure trust. Is it just a property deal or an attempt to shut shop?
When the Osho International Foundation, which runs the internationally-acclaimed Osho Commune in Pune applied last week to the Charity Commissioner’s office in Mumbai, for permission to “gift’’ its 6,600 sq ft prime property in Lane No 1 of Koregaon Park, Pune, it was more than just a magnanimous property deal. At stake is the Osho legacy and the spiritual heritage belonging to the nation, as it represents the life & times and the colossal philosophical work of one of the greatest—though controversial— spiritual mystiques of the 20th century, Osho, earlier known as Acharya Rajneesh.

What’s scandalous is that, while prominent Osho Management team member Ma Sadhana admitted that another part of the property has been recently mortgaged to facilitate running the commune (is it broke?), suddenly you have the management wanting to “gift” another part of its property and that too to an obscure ‘Darshan Trust’ which does not seem to have official credibility. The natural question is: Why such magnanimity?

While the suspicion that the Osho Commune, run by three foreigners, steered by Swami Jayesh alias Michael O Byrne, erstwhile real-estate agent of Edmonton, US—(the other two being Swami Amrito alias George Meredith, Osho’s personal physician and Swami Yogendra alias Darcy O’ Byrne)—who has re-christened the commune as the ‘Osho International Meditation Resort’ with a stark commercial flavour a few years after Osho died in 1990, might be ultimately sold off and the commune shifted somewhere outside the country, has some bearing, though very speculative at this stage.

The Osho Commune management has deliberately undertaken various measures since the past few years to convert this Ashram meant for spiritual seekers who flocked here from around the world, into a luxurious resort by eliminating the Master’s presence in the form of photographs, which otherwise studded the Commune. What was shocking was that Osho’s ‘Samadhi’ was replaced by what is now called as ‘Osho Chuang Tzu’. At that time, former Osho spokesperson Swami Chaitanya Keerti who walked out of the Commune in early 2000, had stated that, “many of us are suspicious of the resort’s motives in discarding the term ‘Samadhi’. I think this is a long-term strategy to break the emotional link we sanyasins have with Osho’s Samadhi and sell or lease Pune property in the future. The prime properties of this Commune do not belong to the handful of inner-circle members, but to all the Osho followers from all over India and the world, who have made contributions when Osho was alive.” Is Keerti’s prophecy coming true now?

The Commune management also audaciously demolished the legendary ‘Buddha Hall’ where Osho gave most of his world-famous spiritual discourses, bedecked in royal robes and seated on an equally royal & luxuriant chair. During the days when he was ailing, he arrived from his room just 500 meters away in a Rolls-Royce. The huge mosquito net that covered the Buddha Hall was said to be the largest, fit enough to enter the Guinness Book of World Records. When that was dismantled a few years back, Keerti had stated it was an “outrage to Osho’s memory and the death of a spiritual heritage place of the country”. That was another act of reducing Osho’s legacy into nothingness. Was that also a part of a strategy to facilitate future sale of property?

The Commune—particularly after the construction of the one lakh square foot Osho Meditation Resort built opposite the main gate, represents what you can call the ‘five-star’ culture. It has transformed into a five-star resort by jacking up entry fees and food prices, and discouraging Indian sanyasins from patronising it by way of humiliation, banning ‘seva’ (voluntary work to run various departments of the Commune and instead appointing an international professional housekeeping company by paying several lakhs per month) and banning those who speak against the highhandedness of the Commune administration.

For example, the entry fees for one day are Rs480 for Indians and Rs960 for Westerners. This is beside the food which would on average cost Rs500 per person for two meals. Thus, even Westerners find it exorbitant to go there—this is confirmed by the assessment that visitors have dipped by nearly 80 percent. Swami Prem Geet (Yogesh Thakkar), one of the two petitioners who have filed an objection in the Charity Commissioner’s office in Mumbai against the Osho Commune’s representation, and because of whom the issue surfaced in the public arena, states, “Until a couple of years back, round 1,000 foreigners would visit the Commune in the peak period of December to February. Last year, there were around 200-odd only. They don’t want visitors anymore—they have sinister plans and have therefore also transferred registration of the trusts from Pune’s Charity Commissioner’s office to Mumbai. However, we got a whiff that they wanted to give away part of the spiritual heritage of the Commune and so we rushed to Mumbai and filed our objection in good time.” Details of the objection petition as well as the Commune’s application before the Charity Commissioner, Mumbai, are available at http://www.oshowork.org/

The Osho International Foundation (OIF) also tried to make the word ‘Osho’ as its trademark. However, it lost the case in 2009 in the US, against a complaint filed by ‘Osho Friends International’ in 1999 steered by Keerti. The Trademark and Trial Appeal Board in the US where the case was filed concluded, “The term ‘Osho’ is generic for the meditations devised by the mystic Osho and the meditation and religious movement arising from there. As a result, defendant OIF cannot foreclose others from utilising the term OSHO to describe their own goods and services based upon such meditations and movements.”

After the German Bakery blast in 2010, the tourists’ tour through the Osho Commune has been stopped for security reasons as it has come under the radar of terrorists, and rightly so. Only, this has become another reason for curbs on people visiting it.

When Moneylife contacted Ma Sadhana, she brushed off the issue of gifting away part of the property, thus—“It is a storm in a teacup. We are all happy here, alive and kicking. We have no problems. There is no petition filed with the Charity Commissioner.”

Pune’s Osho Commune is a national heritage as Osho has an international following, the like not seen for any other Indian spiritual master. While his philosophy of ‘Sex to super-consciousness’ had come under bitter criticism when he propagated it in the early 1970s, today his books, audio & video cassettes are widely sold in practically every country. He has brought about a unique spiritual innovation that has been accepted beyond India.

It is time that leading followers of Osho who walked away from the Commune and started their own centres in different parts of the country and were erstwhile faces of the Commune like Ma Yoga Neelam (Osho’s secretary), Swami Tathagat (Osho Commune’s administration-in-charge), Swami Satya Vedant (former chancellor, Osho Multi-Varsity) and Swami Chaitanya Keerti come forward to launch a mass campaign against any demolition or alleged closure of the Osho Commune. They need to give strong support to Swami Premgeet (Yogesh Thakkar) and Swami Prem Anadi (Kishor Raval) who are presently opposing the Commune’s recent move in the Charity Commissioner’s office in Mumbai.

Simultaneously, it is time the state and Central governments suo motu come forward to preserve this national heritage.

En respuesta a la circular emitida por el equipo de Gestión de Osho de Meditación de la fecha Resort 09 de octubre 2011, afirmamos que:

1. En primer lugar, ha habido una solicitud presentada por el fiduciario de Osho International Foundation (OIF) Sr. Mukesh Sarda en la oficina del Alto Comisionado de la Caridad de Honor en Mumbai del 19 de septiembre de 2011. Esta solicitud se presenta por la OIF para transferir la porción de bienes de un fideicomiso por medio del don de la confianza Darshan situado en Nueva Delhi, en virtud del artículo 36 de la Ley de Charitable Trust 1950. La copia de la misma se encuentra disponible en http://oshowork.org/updates.html

2. El referido recurso de regalar parte de Osho Ashram está en contradicción con las declaraciones hechas por Ma Amrit Sadhna. Nuestra pregunta es que si ellos están hipotecando la propiedad ashram # 9 para recaudar fondos para renovaciones y upgradations entonces ¿por qué este acto de generosidad de regalar se requiere?
3. En la apreciación de dicho desarrollo como se ha mencionado por Ma Amrit Sadhna, nuestra opinión es que tal desarrollo se lleva a cabo por miles de discípulos de Osho de todo el mundo al contribuir con su tiempo, dinero, trabajo y dedicación a Osho. ¿Dónde están esas personas y por qué no son capaces de entrar en el ashram más? La presencia de la gente se ha reducido al 70% - 80% en los últimos cinco años.
4. El camino frente y ganador de premios Osho Teerth Park se hizo y se terminó en el año 2000.
5. Nosotros apreciamos de todo corazón la presencia y la contribución de Swami Jayesh, Amrito y Yogendra. Respectivamente, nos gustaría tener la lista de los miembros de Inner Circle y el período de su mandato la celebración de miembros del Círculo Interno de Osho desde su creación.

Y además nos comprometemos a todas las personas interesadas que:
Estamos haciendo declaraciones por este medio a fin de aclarar nuestra posición sobre los asuntos que tienen lugar en las situaciones actuales. Así que no hay perjuicio, entre compañeros de viaje.
Tenemos principalmente Seis objetivos fundamentales con los administradores, fiduciarios y las personas responsables de Osho International Foundation, Fundación Neo sannyas y los directores / Multimedia miembros Osho & Resorts con plazas limitadas:

I. No crear o hacer crear cualquier interés de terceros en las propiedades de la forma de vender, donación, arrendamiento y servidumbre, la dotación o de otra manera. Debido a estas propiedades y sus factores de beneficio, pertenece a los seguidores de Osho que lo han creado en la presencia de Osho con su tiempo, dinero y dedicación. Esta objeción incluye todas las obras de infraestructura que han tenido lugar en dicho local confía.

II. Hacemos un llamamiento para que los derechos de inscripción nominal de hasta 100 rupias / - sin perjuicio de culto, credos y nacionalidades a fin de que todos los discípulos pueden darse el lujo de pagar lo mismo.

III. Los discípulos de Osho tiene derecho a trabajar en el ashram durante 3 horas mientras que el pago de la cuota de inscripción y hasta 6 horas para pasar a los trabajadores libres.

IV. Teniendo en cuenta las palabras de Osho "El poder corrompe y el poder absoluto corrompe absolutamente" hacemos un llamamiento que todas las decisiones especialmente en las cuestiones fundamentales se adoptarán por más personas y los poderes no recaerá en personas de pocos.

V. Exigimos transparencia en la toma de decisiones y la rendición de cuentas en todas las cuestiones de confianza.

VI. Hacemos un llamamiento para detener la prohibición indiscriminada de compañeros de viaje que buscan la entrada en la premisa de confianza.

El paraíso
El paraíso no está en otro lugar. El paraíso no es algo geográfico. No está por encima de las nubes, en el cielo; está dentro de ti. No está en ningún otro momento, después de la muerte. Un día llegó un hombre, un viejo granjero, y le dijo: "Mira, tú puedes ser Dios y puedes haber creado el mundo, pero debo decirte algo: no eres un granjero. Ni siquiera sabes el abc del trabajo en la granja. Tienes algo para aprender".
Dios dijo: "¿Qué me aconsejas?"
El granjero contestó: "Sólo dame un año de tiempo y déjame todas las cosas a mí, y verás qué ocurre. ¡Ya no quedará pobreza!"
Dios estaba dispuesto a ello y le dio un año al granjero. Naturalmente, el granjero pidió lo mejor, sólo tuvo pensamientos de lo mejor nada de truenos, ni fuertes vientos, ni peligros para los cultivos. Todo confortable, acogedor y él estaba muy contento. El trigo crecía tan alto... Cuando quería sol, había sol, cuando quería lluvia, había lluvia, y tanta como necesitaba. Ese año todo estuvo bien, matemáticamente bien. El trigo crecía tan alto...
El granjero iba a Dios y le decía: "Mira, esta vez los cultivos serán tales, que por diez años, aún si la gente no trabaja, habrá suficiente comida". Pero cuando se cosecharon los cultivos, las espigas estaban vacías. El granjero estaba sorprendido. Le preguntó a Dios: "¿Qué pasó? ¿Qué salió mal?"
Dios le dijo: "Porque no hubo desafío, porque no hubo conflicto ni fricción, porque evitaste todo lo malo, el trigo quedó impotente. Un poco de lucha es imprescindible. Se necesitan tormentas, truenos, relámpagos. Movilizan el alma dentro del trigo".
Esta parábola es de inmenso valor. Si sólo estás feliz, la felicidad perderá todo su significado. Será como si alguien escribe con tiza blanca sobre una pared blanca. Puede seguir escribiendo, pero nadie podrá jamás leerlo. La noche es tan necesaria como el día. Y los días de tristeza son tan esenciales como los días de felicidad. A esto llamo comprensión. Y lentamente, cuanto más ves el ritmo de la vida, el ritmo de la dualidad y de la polaridad, dejas de preguntar, dejas de elegir. ¡Entonces has descubierto el secreto!
Vive con este secreto y te sorprenderás de pronto: ¡qué grandioso es el regalo de la vida! ¡Cuánto te es dado a cada momento! Pero has estado viviendo de tus expectativas, de tus diminutos y triviales deseos y porque las cosas no se adecuaban a tus deseos, te sentías desgraciado.
Cuando sigues la naturaleza de las cosas, no se arroja ninguna sombra. Aún la tristeza es luminosa en ese instante. No es que la tristeza no vendrá. Ella vendrá, pero no será tu enemiga. Te convertirás en su amigo, porque verás su necesidad. Podrás ver su gracia y podrás ver porqué está allí y porqué es necesaria. Y sin ella serás menos, no más.

Es importante que nuestros corazones se encuentren también trabajando, ya que si opacamos o escondemos sus impulsos energéticos es como dejar marchitar una bonita flor, todo nuestro entorno depende de nuestro equilibrio, y nuestro equilibrio se gana cediendo y otorgando, no sólo resistiendo, confía en ti mismo y tendrás más de la mitad de los deseos resueltos.

Lao Tse dice que la naturaleza de la existencia es más parecida a la de la mujer, es más femenina. Y la analogía es preciosa. No está diciendo que la existencia sea hembra, recuérdalo. Esto no es lógico, no está intentando demostrar que la existencia sea hembra. No está a favor del movimiento de liberación de la mujer, no. Simplemente está ofreciendo una analogía.
Un hombre también puede ser femenino. Un Buda es femenino, un Lao Tse es femenino, un Jesús es femenino. Entonces vive, vive en el momento, sin prisa; disfruta del momento pausadamente.

Cuando digo esto, existen dos posibilidades de malentendidos: las mujeres pueden interpretarlo mal y creer que no pueden hacer nada; los hombres pueden comprenderlo mal y pensar que esto no es para ellos. No; es para ambos. Pero recuerda... las mujeres no son puras, han perdido su mística femenina. Tienen que volver a conseguirla. Desde luego para ellas será más fácil conquistarla que para los hombres, no creas que un hombre como Lao Tse no es para ti –es particularmente para ti, de lo contrario seguirás alejándote cada vez más de la existencia y del éxtasis de la vida. Todo el mundo tiene que regresar a la madre; esa es la mística femenina.

La amistad ha sido uno de los temas más ignorados por la mayoría de los filósofos, tal vez damos por sentado que entendemos lo que significa, de ahí que hemos permanecido ignorantes de su profundidad... de sus posibilidades de crecimiento... de sus diferentes matices y diferentes significados.
Lo más importante es recordar esto: uno necesita amigos porque somos incapaces de estar solos. Y en tanto que uno necesite amigos no puede ser verdaderamente un amigo, porque la necesidad reduce al otro a un objeto. Sólo el hombre que es capaz de estar solo, es también capaz de ser un amigo... Pero en ese caso, no es producto de su necesidad, sino de la dicha; no surge del hambre, ni de la sed, sino la abundancia de su amor que quiere compartir.
Cuando existe una amistad así, no debe ser llamada amistad, porque ha tomado una dimensión totalmente diferente: yo la llamo "amigabilidad"... Ha ido más allá de la relación, porque todas las relaciones son de un modo u otro, obligaciones, te hacen esclavo y hacen esclavos a los otros.
La "amigabilidad" es la clase más pura de amor. No es una necesidad, no es una exigencia. Es pura abundancia, éxtasis desbordante.
Zarathustra dice: "Nuestra confianza en los demás delata lo que quisiéramos creer de nosotros mismos".
El hombre que cree en otros es un hombre que tiene miedo de creer en sí mismo. El cristiano, el hindú, el mahometano, el budista, el comunista, nadie es suficientemente valiente como para tener fe en su propio ser. Cree en otros, y cree en aquellos que creen en él. Es realmente ridículo; tu amigo te necesita, tiene miedo de su soledad... tú lo necesitas porque tienes miedo de tu soledad... Ambos tienen miedo de la soledad. ¿Piensas que por estar juntos... ¿su soledad desaparecerá? Será simplemente redoblada o quizás multiplicada, es por esto que todas las relaciones conducen a una miseria mayor, a una mayor angustia.
Nadie puede colmar tu vacío. Tienes que enfrentar tu vacío. Tienes que vivirlo, tienes que aceptarlo. Y en esta aceptación se esconde una gran revolución, una gran revelación.

Nadie puede negar la muerte
La causa de toda la violencia del mundo es completamente diferente de la que suele creer la gente. No son las diferencias de ideas de las personas (que unos no quieran beber agua sin filtrar o que otros coman después de la puesta del sol); no, no es nada de esto.
La causa fundamental de la violencia es que el hombre mata a los demás para olvidarse de su propia muerte. Cuando mata a los demás, cree que nadie puede matarlo a él, pues él tiene el poder de matar. Hitler, Genghis Kan y otros como ellos mataron a millones de personas para poder decirse a sí mismos: “Nadie puede matarme, pues yo mato a millones de personas”. Intentamos librarnos de nuestra propia muerte, intentamos confirmar nuestra independencia a base de matar a otros. Suponemos que, dado que nosotros somos capaces de matar a gente, ¿quién podrá matarnos a nosotros?
En lo más hondo, esto es rehuir la muerte. En lo más hondo, la persona violenta huye de la muerte. Y el que quiere salvarse a sí mismo de la muerte nunca puede ser no violento. Sólo el que declara: “Acepto la muerte, pues la muerte es una de las circunstancias de la vida, es una realidad”, puede ser una persona no violenta. Nadie puede negar la muerte. ¿Dónde nos esconderemos de ella? ¿Dónde nos refugiaremos?
El sol empieza a ponerse en cuanto sale. La puesta de sol es tan real como la salida del sol; sólo se diferencian en el sentido. En el ocaso, el sol llega exactamente al punto donde estaba al alba, pero al alba estaba en el este, mientras que en el ocaso está en el oeste. El nacimiento está a un lado, la muerte está al otro. Lo que sube por un lado baja por el otro. El naciente y el ocaso están unidos; en realidad, el ocaso está oculto en el naciente. La muerte está oculta en el nacimiento. Nadie que sepa esto puede negarlo de ningún modo. Cuando lo sabe, lo acepta todo. Entonces vive esta verdad. La conoce, la ve y la acepta.
Con la aceptación llega la transformación. Cuando hablo de vencer a la muerte, quiero decir que en cuanto una persona acepta la muerte se ríe, porque llegó a saber que la muerte no existe. Sólo se forma y se deshace la envoltura externa. El mar siempre ha existido; sólo la ola ha cobrado forma y se ha desintegrado después. La belleza siempre ha estado presente; las flores aparecieron y se marchitaron. La luz siempre ha brillado; el sol salió y se puso. Y lo que brillaba con la salida del sol y con su puesta siempre estaba presente, antes del naciente y después del ocaso. Pero sólo llegaremos a ver esto cuando hayamos visto la muerte, cuando hayamos tenido la visión de la muerte, cuando nos hayamos encontrado con la muerte, cuando nos hayamos encontrado la muerte cara a cara: nunca antes.

Ya es la realidad. No es algo que se tenga que lograr en el futuro. Tú eres la verdad aquí y ahora, así que no es algo que se tenga que crear o algo que se tenga que proyectar o algo que se tenga que buscar. Comprende esto muy claramente; en¬tonces estas técnicas serán fáciles de comprender y también de hacer.

La mente es una máquina de desear. La mente siempre está deseando, siempre está buscando algo, pidiendo algo. El objeto siempre está en el futuro; a la mente no le interesa en absoluto el presente. En este mismo momento, la mente no puede moverse: no hay espacio. La mente necesita el futuro para moverse. Se puede mover en el pasado o en el futuro. No puede moverse en el presente; no hay espacio. La verdad está en el presente, y la mente siempre está en el futuro o en el pasado, de manera que no hay ningún encuentro entre la mente y la verdad.

Cuando la mente busca objetos mundanos, no es difícil, el problema no es absurdo; se puede resolver. Pero cuando la mente empieza a buscar la verdad, el esfuerzo mismo se vuelve un desatino, porque la verdad está aquí y ahora, y la mente siempre está entonces y allí. No hay ningún encuentro. Así que lo primero que hay que comprender es: no puedes buscar la verdad. La puedes encontrar, pero no la puedes buscar. La búsqueda misma es el obstáculo.

En el momento en que empiezas a buscar, te has ido del presente, te has alejado de ti mismo, porque tú siempre estás en el presente. El buscador siempre está en el presente y la búsqueda está en el futuro; no te vas a encontrar con lo que estás buscando. Lao Tsé dice: «No busques; de lo contrario, errarás. No busques, encuentra. No busques y encuentra.»

Lo que estás buscando ya está aquí, ya es el caso. Hay que traer la mente del buscar al no-buscar. Es difícil. Si lo piensas intelectualmente, es muy difícil. ¿Cómo traer la mente del buscar al no-buscar?, ¡porque entonces la mente convierte el no-buscar mismo en su objeto! La mente dice entonces: «No busques.» La mente dice entonces: «No debería buscar.» La mente dice entonces: «Ahora, no-buscar es mi objeto. Ahora deseo el estado de no-deseo.» La búsqueda ha vuelto, el deseo ha vuelto por la puerta de atrás. Por eso hay gente que busca objetos mundanos y hay gente que piensa que está buscando objetos no mundanos. Todos los objetos son mundanos, porque «buscar» es el mundo.

Ser testigo es una revolución
Toda la metodología oriental se puede reducir a dos palabras: ser testigo. Y toda la metodología occidental se puede reducir a una cosa: analizar. Cuando analizas, das vueltas y más vueltas.
El análisis es un círculo vicioso. Si te metes de verdad en el análisis, te encontrarás desconcertado. ¿Cómo es posible? Si, por ejemplo, intentas retroceder al pasado, ¿dónde terminarás? ¿Dónde exactamente? Si retrocedes al pasado, ¿dónde comenzó tu sexualidad? ¿Cuándo tenías catorce años? ¿Y acaso entonces surgió de la nada? Debió haberse estado preparando en el cuerpo, ¿no? Entonces, ¿cuándo? ¿Cuándo naciste? Pero ¿acaso no se estuvo preparando antes, cuando estabas en el seno de tu madre? Entonces, ¿cuándo? ¿En el momento en que fuiste concebido? Pero antes de eso, la mitad de tu sexualidad estaba madura en el óvulo de tu madre y la otra mitad de tu sexualidad estaba madurando en el espermatozoide de tu padre. Si seguimos así, ¿dónde terminarás? ¡Tendrás que remontarte a Adán y Eva! Y ni siquiera ahí termina la cosa. Tendrás que remontarte hasta Dios. ¿Por qué si no, quién creó a Adán?
El análisis siempre se queda a medias, y por eso el análisis nunca ayuda de verdad a nadie. No puede ayudar. Te deja un poco más adaptado a la realidad, eso es todo. Es una especie de ajuste; te ayuda a adquirir un poquito de comprensión de tus problemas, de su génesis, de cómo surgieron. Y esa pequeña comprensión intelectual te ayuda a adaptarte mejor a la sociedad, pero sigues siendo la misma persona. Por, ese camino no hay transformación, por ese camino no hay cambio radical.
Ser testigo es una revolución. Es un cambio radical desde las raíces mismas. Trae a la existencia un ser humano totalmente nuevo, porque deja tu conciencia libre de todos los condicionamientos.
Ser testigo no cambiará tu condicionamiento. Ser testigo no cambiará la musculatura de tu cuerpo. Pero ser testigo te proporcionará una experiencia, la de que estás más allá de toda musculatura, más allá de todo condicionamiento. En ese momento de distanciamiento, en ese momento de trascendencia, no existen problemas.

El camino del medio
Dejar el mundo significa básicamente dejar los objetos para poder concentrarse en tí mismo. Es fácil. Si dejas el mundo y cierras los ojos y cierras todos tus sentidos, puedes ser consciente de ti mismo fácilmente, pero también esa consciencia es falsa, porque has elegido un punto de la dualidad. Esto es otro extremo de la misma enfermedad.
Primero eras consciente del objeto, lo conocido, y no eras consciente del sujeto, el que conoce. Ahora te has adherido al que conoce y has olvidado lo conocido, pero sigues dividido en una dualidad. Y ésta es de nuevo la vieja mente en una nueva pauta. Nada ha cambiado. De ahí mi énfasis en no dejar el mundo de los objetos. No abandones el mundo de los objetos. Más bien intenta tomar consciencia del sujeto y del objeto simultáneamente, de lo externo y lo interno simultáneamente. Sólo si ambos están ahí puedes estar equilibrado entre ellos. Si sólo hay uno, te obsesionarás con ello.

Los que se van a los Himalayas y se encierran, son iguales que tú, sólo que en una posición inversa. Tu estás adherido a los objetos; ellos están adheridos al sujeto. Tú estás adherido a lo externo; ellos están adheridos a lo interno. Ni tú eres libre, ni lo son ellos; porque no puedes ser libre con sólo uno. Con uno te identificas. Sólo puedes ser libre cuando tomas consciencia de los dos. Entonces puedes volverte lo tercero, y lo tercero es el punto libre. Con uno te identificas. Con dos puedes moverte, puedes alternar, puedes equilibrar, y puedes llegar a un punto medio, un punto medio absoluto.

Latest News on Osho Trademarks After Osho leaves his body in 1990, efforts began to monopolize and own Osho’s work, Osho meditations and “Osho”. For approximately ten years, starting in 1992, Osho International Foundation (OIF), Zurich filed applications with the United States Trademark office to register marks for the word “Osho”, Osho’s meditations, and other things related to Osho such as one version of His signature. In doing this, OIF, Zurich claimed to own and control “Osho”, Osho’s meditations, and all of Osho’s work. January 19, 1990 - Osho leaves his body April 25, 1990 – Rajneesh Foundation in Poona changes its name to Osho International Foundation, registered in Bombay. Later Rajneesh Foundation Europe also changed its name to Osho International Foundation, OIF. So there became two different Foundations- one in India and the other in Zurich with the same name. It is interesting that for seven years after Osho leaving His body, there was never ever a talk about a trademark. (even though preperations for estblishing a trademark were made made behind peoples back since 1994 or 1995) Then suddenly appeared the letter of understanding (LOU) for centerleaders to sign. It was the start of creating a legal bond between Centers and OIF that would enable to legaly rule and control the centers with the help of an Osho Trademark. It became more and more obvious that the Osho trademark, was not so much to control the outside world but to control the Osho centres and the meditation techniques to make money. It is basically a device to keep control and to make money. With the centres they also really wanted to make sure that they have a say and control over centres in different countries. It is ll done under the name of wanting to keep Osho’s vision a 24 carat gold which is that they wanted to keep the gold for themselves. Many people have decided not to open up Osho meditation centres because they did not want to sign those agreements. So basically, accepting the trademark means being under OIF’s call. It was totally in contrast to what Osho said publicly. Osho made it very clear that He wanted His centres to be totally independent and at the most - as he called it - spiritually affiliated. Osho said this to me personaly after the world tour in Kullu Manali, in an interview for the German Osho Times. He clearly expressed that centralization makes people lose their individuality because they cannot stand on their own and they have to listen and look for directives. In that sense the whole thing that has been done is completely opposite to Oshos direct input. During Poona I days and in Rajneeshpuram, there was no legal control. There was of course, Sheela’s input in the centres but that was also because she was coming from Osho, as sent by Osho and whatever she did, she did. Especially in the interviews she said that she was Osho’s secretary; she was using her position to install her regime. That experience is an important point to see: You have to trust your own intelligence and your own sense of freedom and your own sense of imbibing Osho’s vision rather than listening to other people telling you what Osho wanted. Especially said in private over which others have no control and don’t know what He has been saying. Even in the course of the time it was obvious that Osho’s guidance changed while He was already no more in the body. Osho wanted the people who are involved with the centres to grow themselves. And if they were controlled and told what to do or what not to do, their own growth will be limited. You can do things but if it does not come out of your own freedom, your own initiative, your own understanding, you will be just a priest and carbon copies. You will be talking the stuff that is being repeated, you will be just like parrots. Yes,there was a trademark, in Cologne about Zorba the Buddha Osho discotheque. But there is a very big difference when you trademark the name of the business or you trademark the name of a master. In my understanding a trademark ‚Osho’ simply does not exist! It ist he name of a person: Osho! There are many cases where people tried to trademark names, for example, the name Dalai Lama or the name of Jesus Christ, and all those petitions or attempts to trademark those names failed because these names cannot be trademarked. Even the idea, to try to trademark them is ridiculous. At a certain point, a representative of the inner circle openly admitted to me that because they had troubles, the lawyers suggested to them to start creating the trademark. That is something wich I deeply resent, because it is a lie to say that Osho wanted a trademark! This is really how, when the master is out of the body, people start creating their mission and their own ideologies and their own interpretations. I guess we will never know who Jesus really was, because we only have second hand information and experiences. Probably he was a very very cute, loving and juicy guy but we only see him hanging on the cross. It is very clear that the name Osho has never been a trademark in the first place. There was nobody there in the beginning to object but now it has been objected and it becomes clear that an Osho trademark does not work. In case Osho really wanted the trademarks why did He not do it between 1987 and 1990 when He was in Poona. One of His lawyers who was in Poona at that time and working for Him said that He never talked about the trademark at least as long as He was in the body. And His public statements about the trademarks are very clear. It is a stupid idea to try to trademark a name or the meditations because they belong to everybody, not the privilege of certain group to take power of it. The expression to keep something 24 carat gold, the very fact that you try to trademark it, contradicts the gold. For example, people who are against death penalty going as far to say that I shoot everybody who wants death penalty. That is the intelligence of this roof. You have to make a choice, either you have freedom and then you will have the possibility for love, for growth, for expansion as an individual or you decide for control. Control always means the end of growth. Control always means that you cannot flower. The trademark itself would be of no help at all in publication or distribution of His discourses or translations. What for? Nobody is bothered with the trademarks. People are concerned with Osho’s words, with the discourses and what He has put out into the world. In that sense that is important. All the rest is just power politics which is the normal thing that happens after the master has left the body. Then the religion starts and the people start considering themselves as the heirs to the heritage. Osho has made it very clear that all His sannyasins are His successors. He has given the responsibility to each individual and each person that feels connected to Him. There is no way that they can claim to be the successors. For once they have an advisory function, that’s it. And as such they will be really welcomed and it would be great that they create opportunities to learn or to understand what it means to run a centre or what would be the ingredients, because it comes from a completely different plane if you start sharing what you have received rather than coming and commanding how to do things and if you don’t do it this way, you will be out. This whole idea of banning people, of people not being able to meditate in the Samadhi is just sick. It is coming from a normal priest mind that allows people who follow the rules and if you don’t go with the rules then you will be banned. It’s a very stupid game. OIF, Zurich and these people who control it have given out the impression that they are the successors of all that is concerned with Osho but every sannyasin is a successor of Osho. So it is for all sannyasins and all Osho centres to have their own individual responsibility to live their life insired by the message of Osho in whatever way that they feel is right. That is the only way to spread his message. This is what attracted me to Osho. I never felt any missionary activity happening around Him. It was the beauty and the whole climate that attracted me. So that is everybody’s responsibility or everybody’s gift that if he falls in love with the vision and if he understands what is being transmitted through His words and makes a part of his life, that in itself I trust will be more than enough to spread Osho’s vision or His love all around. It will be through your own taste, though your own breathing that will transmit and not through any legal papers. It will be through each individual sannyasin’s own colour, own taste, own fragrance that His message will spread. In Germany there are people so much interested in Osho’s active meditations, especially the young people they don’t want to be repressed, they want to live and find for themselves what they want to do. In that sense there is an incredible opening for what is happening through Osho. As far as misuse of Osho is concerned and often quoted by OIF and Pune guys that the name Osho may be used for whore house or toilet paper, it’s ridiculous. How long it will stand. Even if you changed Kundalini meditation this way or that way, it will last for a few minutes but it will have no momentum and power in itself. The meditations themselves the way they are designed are so clear. For sometime it might work but it will collapse. That is the difference with what is false: The false will have momentum for sometime but it will fall flat. Even if someone calls a whorehouse Osho whorehouse for five minutes, it will have no momentum, it will not be attractive. I think there is a strategy there, you start creating outside enemies, any fascist regim does it. By creating outside enemies, you start creating rules and they control the inside. And that is the strategy behind it. This is all just political games and is stupid. People are not so adamant about using that name for those practices. Especially if they do meditate, sooner or later, it’s the essential that matters. After Osho left the body there was a sign in the Multiversity saying that if you move to the west beware not to set up any competitive business. What a strange kind of mind. We felt so loaded and so incredibly enriched, so the idea of competition was irrelevant in the first place. If a beautiful woman trusts her own beauty she does not need to compete, she just enjoys that she is lucky enough to be so beautiful. This is all just coming from the mind, from fear. Its fear that creates the whole urge for control and power. On the contrary, in Poona I days, Osho would tell people to go and spread His message. I went to Poona in 1976 and whatever happened there was so incredible. When I went back to the west, I did not want to miss that quality in my life so I started creating the possibility for meditations and things to happen. But that has never come out of any order. It came out of my inner drive to create a life that I find worth living. There was no competitive spirit, not even the idea. It was in the seventies and Ma Laxmi was the secretary at that time. I never had to deal with anyone once. He asked me to open up the centre and that was it. They never came and said, are you running the centre this way or that way or what you have to do in the centre. Osho knew about the centre and so many German friends were coming to the centre and then to Poona. He talked of visiting the centre, still there was no interference from the ashram. There was a centre handbook, I remember, but it was never part of any legal contract! It was like I had the first hand experience and we were following our own feelings. There was no idea of any centralization or never to establish a centralized system of centres. We as the people of the centre were supporting each other and we were meeting and hanging out and working together. It still happens in Germany. The centre meeting is an initiative of the centres and we meet at all different places once every year but never centrally organized. Now Osho International wants to tell the centres how to run the centres and in the guidance are given all the rules and regulations that centres must follow. They want it to be part of a contract. Sharing is very different, for example, people come to Cologne and they ask me how do you do this and how do you do that and I tell them how we do things and then they can, according to their own situations because each one is different. This kind of sharing is very valuable, to tell people that this is the way things have been done that has worked. To share that experience and share Osho’s vision. But that’s a completely different attitude. This way you are giving something back that you have received. But it is cunning thing to make people sign a paper: is a power game and that is how religion works. It never happened that way with Osho. In Poona I when He gave the names it was free and He wanted actually for the centres to use His name as much as possible. It was the same during Poona II. During His world tour He was giving centres and institutes till 1990. People never had any obligation when they got the name. So this is a completely new set of ideas and mind that started setting in after He left the body. If you start a trademark normally, you have a certain, finished product that gets trademarked. and you are the source of it. But what actually happened is, that Osho was all over the planet already and people were living His vision. It was being used in all the different places. Now trying to monopolize these and make it a single source is just not possible in the very nature of things. They are being used all over the place. It is peoples individual expression of their love for Osho and their way to live his vision. It would be same as if the German Mercedes was trying to monopolize the word car. Its ridiculous. Osho’s words, His expressions has been there all over the globe. Then in retrospect to go and say it was a trademark all the time is simply cheating on the love of people for Osho, on their expression and their understanding of Osho’s vision. When the trademarks are gone all centres will be free to use the name and if they like they can even go and register the name along with their own centre name. It would identify which source the centres are coming from and identify each centre. And OIF have equal right on that. They will have equal right to work for Osho’s vision as much as any other centre This is how in my understanding it was envisioned when Osho created the Poona Commune: that it is not in anyway the Vatican of the Osho movement. It is a meeting place of friends, even today. He never created a hierarchy for the time he would not be in the body anymore! In that sense and He made it very clear when the inner circle started that the inner circle has only a practical function as far as the running of the commune is concerned but it has no spiritual authority as such. Later, they slowly moved into these areas of Sannyas trying to become more and more of a spiritual authority. When I went to Ramana Maharishi’s place, 50 years after leaving his body, where you still can feel Ramana’s energy at the heart and yet the people who run the place, do it the way they feel is the best way to do it. In Poona, what they should do is run the place, but to make it a hierarchical system and to put yourself on top and to declare yourself as the successor of Osho is simply a very stupid game. So many people feel ispired by Oshos words and His vision and meditaion is becoming more and more important. But in Germany, centres are not growing. The trademarks are totally restricting the work of the centres. Contrary to what OIF would like the world to believe that the trademarks will protect the name and will be helpful for the work and that Osho always wanted these trademarks, actually in Germany, at least, the trademarks have restricted the work of Osho. People write to UTA and they say how can we open up an Osho centre, how can we design, how can we have the name this way or that way but people do not want to be part of an organization. They don’t want to go from one religion which is the catholic or the protestant church to the next one. So they don’t want to sign even they love Osho’s meditations, even though they love the inspirations of His words. There are quite a few people, few independent spirits who don’t want to come under the dictum of an organization. Without freedom love is not possible. Sannyas is an inner working, inner expression of love for life rather than making it a formal thing. Sannyas is something, that happens everyday new. It lives now, it lives every morning new and from that side it will be everybody’s individual responsibility for their own lives if they find that source and inspiration that Osho is, how to live it and how to share it.

Cada vez que te des cuenta de que te has ido al pasado o al futuro, no te crees problemas por ello. Simplemente, vuelve al presente, sin crearte problemas. ¡No pasa nada! Simplemente, recupera tu conciencia. La perderás millones de veces; no te va a salir ahora mismo, inmediatamente. Puede suceder, pero no puede suceder por tu causa. Es un modo de conducta fijo desde hace tanto, tantísimo tiempo, que no lo puedes cambiar de buenas a primeras. Pero no te preocupes, la existencia no tiene ninguna prisa. La eternidad puede esperar eternamente. No crees tensiones por ello.

Cada vez que sientas que te has perdido, vuelve; eso es todo. No te sientas culpable; eso es un truco de la mente, que está otra vez jugando a sus juegos. No te arrepientas: «¡He vuelto a olvidarme!» Simplemente, cuando pienses, vuelve a lo que estuvieras haciendo. Si estás tomando un baño, vuelve; si estás comiendo la comida, vuelve; si estás dando un paseo, vuelve. En el momento en que sientas que no estás aquí y ahora, vuelve... simplemente, inocentemente, No crees culpa. Si te sientes culpable, no has entendido nada.

Hay pecado, pero no hay culpa... pero eso es difícil para ti. Si sientes que algo está mal, te sientes inmediatamente culpable. La mente es muy astuta. Si te sientes culpable, el juego ha empezado, de nuevo... en un nuevo campo, pero el juego es muy antiguo. La gente acude a mí y dice: «Nos seguimos olvidando.» Se ponen muy tristes cuando dicen: «Nos seguimos olvidando. Lo intentamos, pero solo nos acordamos durante unos segundos. Nos mantenemos alerta, recordándonos, pero enseguida nos perdemos. ¿Qué hacer?» ¡No se. puede hacer nada! No es cuestión de hacer. ¿Qué podrías hacer? Lo único que se puede hacer es no crear culpa. Simplemente vuelve.

Una relación es posible pero el amor no esta confinado en ella, esta más allá de esta.

La soledad es una flor
La soledad es un loto abriéndose en tu corazón... la soledad es positiva, la soledad es salud. Es el goce de ser tú mismo. Es la alegría de tener tu propio espacio.

Meditación significa: éxtasis de estar solo. Uno está realmente vivo cuando llegó a ser capaz de estar en soledad, cuando ya no depende más de nadie, ni de ninguna situación ni condición y como la soledad es nuestra, puede quedarse mañana, tarde, día o noche; en la juventud o en la vejez; cuando estamos sanos o enfermos; en la vida y en la muerte también puede estar presente porque no es algo que te pasa desde afuera, es algo que emana de ti, es tu verdadera naturaleza, tu propia naturaleza.

Un viaje a nuestro interior es un viaje hacia la soledad absoluta; ahí no pueder llevarte a nadie contigo; no puedes compartir tu centro con nadie, ni siquiera con tu pareja… no es parte de su naturaleza y no hay nada que hacerle. Desde el momento que entras en tu interior, se rompen todas las conexiones con el mundo externo, se rompen todos los puentes. En realidad, desaparece el mundo entero.

Por eso los místicos llamaban al mundo “maya”, ilusorio… no es que no exista, pero para el meditador, el que va hacia adentro, es casi como si el mundo no existiera. El silencio es tan profundo que ningún ruido lo penetra; la soledad es tan profunda que se necesitan agallas. Pero de esa soledad explosiona el éxtasis… de esa soledad, la experiencia de Dios, no hay otra forma; nunca la hubo y nunca la va a haber. Celebra la soledad, festeja tu espacio puro y surgirá una gran melodía de tu corazón, y será una canción de conciencia, será una canción de meditación, será el cantar de un pájaro solitario llamando a la distancia, no llamando a alguien en particular, sino simplemente llamando, porque su corazón está lleno y quiere llamar, porque la nube está llena y quiere llover, porque la flor está colmada, se abren sus pétalos y se libera su fragancia sin estar dirigida a nadie. Deja que tu soledad se transforme en una danza.

El gran silencio
En general, el silencio se entiende como algo negativo, algo vacío, una ausencia de sonidos, de ruidos. Este malentendido prevalece porque muy pocas personas experimentaron el silencio realmente.

Lo único que experimentaron en nombre del silencio es la ausencia de ruidos. Pero el silencio es un fenómeno totalmente diferente. Es absolutamente positivo. Es existencial, no está vacío; lo desborda una música que nunca escuchaste, con una fragancia que no te es familiar, con una luz que solamente puede verse con los ojos internos.

No es algo ficticio; es una realidad y una realidad que ya está presente en todos, lo que pasa es que nunca miramos para adentro. Tu mundo interno tiene su propio sabor, su propia fragancia, su propia luz. Y es absolutamente silencioso… inmensamente silencioso, eternamente silencioso. Nunca hubo un ruido ni nunca lo va a haber. No hay palabra que pueda llegar hasta ahí; pero tu sí puedes llegar.

El propio centro de tu ser es el centro del ciclón. Lo que pase a su alrededor no lo afecta. Es silencio eterno. Los días van y vienen, los años van y vienen, los siglos van y vienen, las vidas van y vienen, pero el silencio eterno de tu ser sigue siendo el mismo, la misma música sin sonido, la misma fragancia a divinidad, la misma trascendencia de todo lo mortal, de todo lo momentáneo.
No es tu silencio; tú eres ese silencio.

No es algo que tú posees; estás poseído por eso y esa es su grandiosidad... Ni siquiera estás, porque incluso tu presencia sería una perturbación. El silencio es tan profundo, que no hay nadie, ni siquiera tú. Y este vacío trae verdad, amor y miles de otras bendiciones.

Meditación es aventura, la aventura más grande que pueda emprender la mente humana. Meditación es ser, simplemente, sin hacer nada, sin acción, sin pensamiento, sin emoción. Simplemente, eres y es un deleite puro. ¿De dónde viene este deleite cuando no estás haciendo nada? No viene de ninguna parte, o viene de todas partes. Es sin causa, porque la existencia está hecha de una sustancia llamada deleite.

Cuando no estás haciendo nada en absoluto, corporalmente, mentalmente, ni a ningún nivel, cuando paró toda actividad y solamente eres, eso es meditación. No puedes hacerlo, no puedes practicarlo, solamente tienes que entenderlo. Siempre que puedas encontrar un tiempo para ser, simplemente, deja el hacer. Pensar también es hacer, concentrarse también es hacer, contemplar también es hacer. Incluso si por un momento dejas de hacer y solamente te quedas en tu centro, totalmente relajado, eso es meditación. Y una vez que le hayas encontrado el truco, puedes quedarte en ese estado todo el tiempo que quieras; al final, vas a poder quedarte en ese estado las 24 horas.

Una vez que te des cuenta la forma en que tu ser puede quedarse imperturbable, entonces de a poco, puedes empezar a hacer cosas, manteniéndote alerta de que tu ser no se agite. Esa es la segunda parte de la meditación; primero, aprender a ser, y después aprender con pequeñas actividades; limpiando el piso, dándote una ducha, pero manteniéndote centrado. Después, puedes hacer cosas más complicadas. Por ejemplo, ahora te estoy hablando, pero mi meditación no se perturba. Puedo seguir hablando, pero en mi centro no corre siquiera una brisa; hay silencio nada más... Silencio absoluto.

Entonces la meditación no está en contra de la acción. No es que te tengas que escapar de la vida. Solamente te enseña una nueva forma de vida: Te vuelves el centro del ciclón.

La compasión es el florecimiento absoluto de la conciencia. Es la pasión despojada de toda la oscuridad, liberada de todas las ataduras, purificada de todo el veneno. La pasión se convierte en compasión. La pasión es la semilla y la compasión es su florecimiento.

Pero la compasión no es bondad y la bondad no es compasión. La bondad es una actitud que, guiada por el ego, fortalece tu ego. Cuando eres bondadoso con alguien sientes que tienes ventaja. Cuando eres bondadoso con alguien hay oculto un profundo insulto; estás humillando al otro y te sientes feliz con su humillación. De alguna forma y en algún lugar, la persona con la que has sido bondadoso estará enfadada contigo y se tomará inevitablemente la revancha. Esto sucede porque en la superficie, la bondad surge como si fuese compasión, pero en el fondo no tiene nada que ver con la compasión. Tiene otros motivos ulteriores.

La compasión es inmotivada, no tiene ningún motivo en absoluto. Ocurre simplemente porque tienes, porque das, y no porque el otro necesite nada. En la compasión no hay ninguna consideración hacia el otro. Tienes tanto que te desborda. La compasión es como la respiración, espontánea y natural. La bondad es una actitud que hay que cultivar. La bondad es una especie de artimaña, calculada y matemática.

Habrás oído uno de los dichos más importantes que está, en casi todas las escrituras del mundo:
«Compórtate con los demás como te gustaría que se comportasen contigo». Esto es una actitud calculada, pero no es compasión. No tiene nada que ver con la religiosidad, y es un tipo de moralidad muy baja, una moralidad muy mundana. Es una especie de transacción, pero no tiene nada de religioso. Lo estás haciendo sencillamente porque te gustaría recibir lo mismo a cambio. Es egoísta, egocéntrico e interesado. No estás al servicio del otro, no estás amando al otro, sino que, de una manera indirecta estás haciéndote un favor a ti mismo. Estás utilizando al otro. Es un egoísmo iluminado, pero es egoísmo; es un egoísmo muy inteligente, pero es egoísmo. La compasión es un florecimiento no calculado, es algo que emana. Das porque no puedes hacerlo de otra manera.

Inteligencia significa simplemente habilidad para responder. Porque la vida es un fluir... tienes que estar alerta y ver qué se requiere de ti, cuál es el reto de la situación. La persona inteligente actúa de acuerdo a la situación y el estúpido actúa de acuerdo a respuestas confeccionadas... Vengan de Buddha, de Khrisna o de
Cristo, no importa. El estúpido siempre tiene las escrituras a mano; tiene miedo de depender de sí mismo. La persona inteligente depende de su propia intuición; confía en su propio ser. Se ama y se respeta. La persona no inteligente solamente respeta a otros.

La inteligencia puede redescubrirse. El único método para redescubrirla es la meditación. La meditación hace una sola cosa: destruye todas las barreras que creó la sociedad para impedirte que seas inteligente. Quita los bloqueos. Su función es negativa: quitar las rocas que no dejan que fluyan tus aguas, que se aviven tus manantiales. Todos tenemos un gran potencial, pero la sociedad puso grandes rocas para impedir su realización. Creó Murallas Chinas alrededor tuyo; te aprisionó.

Inteligencia es salir de todas las prisiones, y nunca más volver a entrar en otra. La inteligencia puede descubrirse por medio de la meditación, porque todas esas prisiones existen en tu mente; por suerte, no pueden llegar a tu ser... no pueden contaminar tu ser... nada más pueden contaminar tu mente, pueden cubrirla. Si puedes salir de tu mente, saldrás del cristianismo, del hinduismo, del jainaísmo, del budismo y de toda clase de basura. Puedes terminar con eso definitivamente.

Y cuando te encuentras afuera de la mente, mirándola, siendo conciente de ella, siendo solamente un espectador, eres inteligente. Se descubre tu inteligencia; desechaste lo que hizo contigo la sociedad; destruiste el daño; destruiste la conspiración de los políticos y los curas; saliste de eso, eres un hombre libre. Es más, eres un hombre libre de verdad por primera vez, un hombre auténtico. Ahora todo el cielo es tuyo. La inteligencia trae libertad; la inteligencia trae espontaneidad.

La vida es aquí y ahora
Si te tomas la vida como algo sencillo, si se torna satisfactoria, poco a poco, lo mismo pasará con tu muerte. ¿Qué estamos haciendo? No estamos disfrutando de la vida; sólo nos estamos preparando para disfrutarla. Y la vida es aquí y ahora; no se necesita preparación alguna. Veo gente que siempre se está preparando para tener una gran vida en algún lugar en el futuro. Tendrán miedo a la muerte, pues en el futuro espera la muerte. Y tu vida también está en el futuro: te estás construyendo una casa, o te estás comprando un auto, y esto y aquello, acumulando cosas; simplemente, preparándote para vivir. Nunca estarás preparado y, en el momento en que lo estés, la muerte golpeará a tu puerta. Ese es el temor, que "la muerte pueda llegar antes de que estés preparado".
Un hombre con capacidad de discernimiento vive la vida aquí y ahora; la vive en cada momento. Para él, no hay muerte, porque no hay vida futura. Él agota el momento, lo vive completamente, lo disfruta, está agradecido. ¿Dónde está el temor a la muerte, si en este momento estás vivo? No intentes estar preparado para morir; sólo vive. Y te digo que todos, tal como somos, estamos preparados para vivir el momento presente.
Recuérdalo: no pospongas, no dejes las cosas para mañana. Aquí y ahora, está todo lo que necesitas. Disfrútalo y, cuanto más lo disfrutes, más te será dado. Eso quiso decir Jesús cuando afirmó que, si golpeas, la puerta se te abrirá; si pides, te será dada. En este momento, la puerta está allí. ¡Pide, golpea, vive! No lo dejes para después.
Ese es todo el mensaje de los que han tomado consciencia: alcanza con hoy; el mañana se ocupará de sí mismo. Y el mañana no llega nunca; siempre es hoy. Si conoces el arte de vivir aquí y ahora, podrás vivir cada momento cuando llegue. Incluso en el momento de la muerte, podrás vivir. Y, si puedes vivir el momento de tu muerte, ¿cómo puedes morir? Entonces, también transformas tu muerte en vida.

Relacionarse con existencia

El ser humano ha olvidado el lenguaje de la inocencia. Ha olvidado cómo relacionarse con la existencia. ¡El ser humano ha olvidado cómo relacionarse consigo mismo! Relacionarse con uno mismo significa meditación. Relacionarse con la existencia significa oración. El hombre se ha olvidado del lenguaje en sí. Por eso parecemos como extraños, ¡extraños en nuestra propia casa! No sabemos quiénes somos, no sabemos por qué estamos y no sabemos por qué seguimos existiendo. Parece una espera interminable... Tenemos que esperar algo, de modo que nos inventamos una idea y esperamos. Dios es esa idea. El cielo es esa idea. El nirvana es esa idea. Tenemos que esperar porque de alguna manera tenemos que satisfacer a nuestro ser; si no, nos sentimos muy vacíos. El esperar nos da la sensación de una finalidad y dirección. Te sientes bien; por lo menos estás esperando.

Nos estamos equivocando constantemente, porque hemos adoptado a la mente como el lenguaje para relacionarnos con la existencia. Y la mente es una forma de desconectarse de la existencia. El pensamiento es el obstáculo. Los pensamientos son como murallas chinas a tu alrededor, estás andando a tientas entre los pensamientos. No puedes tocar la realidad, no es que realidad esté lejos. Dios está al lado, como mucho, a la distancia de una oración. Pero si estás haciendo algo como para pensar, cavilar, analizar, interpretar, filosofar, entonces te empiezas a aer más y más, y cuanto más te alejas de la realidad -porque tienes más pensamientos-, más difícil te resulta ver a través de ellos. Son como niebla espesa. Te ciegan.

Este es uno de los principios fundamentales del tantra, que la mente pensante es la mente que se equivoca, que el pensamiento no es el lenguaje adecuado para relacionarse con la realidad. Entonces, ¿cuál es el lenguaje para relacionarse con la realidad? El no pensar, las palabras son insignificantes en lo que respecta a la realidad. El silencio es significativo. El silencio está preñado; las palabras están muertas. Hay que aprender el lenguaje del silencio.

the feast will happen in the presence of swami chaitanya bharti , lovingly called gurudev…and now called "beloved whosoever." he was fortunate to be amongst the first six disciples of osho, who got initiated into sannyas by him in 1970. when osho shifted from mumbai to pune in 1974, he himself stopped conducting meditation camps and appointed swami chaitanya bharti to continue on his behalf. since then, gurudev has continued to keep this flame burning with undiminished energy, enthusiasm and commitment.

in the years that have followed since his awakening, gurudev has transformed many lives by sharing his love and wisdom. his meditation retreats have become a mecca for many sincere seekers from around the world.

the venue for the retreat this time is osho devlok, srirangapatna ,karnataka, india…a silent and serene place, located right on the banks of river kaveri…where all the five elements from which we are made of –the space, the fire, the wind, the water and the earth -- are in abundance.

osho devlok is about 125 kilometers away from bangalore city and 15 kilometers before mysore city.

osho devlok is spread over 3 acres of lush green landscape and breathtaking views. it is situated on the banks of silently flowing kaveri…known as the ganges of south india and is far away from the hustle and bustle of city life and its chaos. it is surrounded by coconut trees, bamboo grooves, lush green fields, variety of birds and the sound of running water.

as always...we welcome only those friends who have a deep longing for self-transformation and are willing to participate with their totality and commitment for the entire 40 days.

La perfección no existe

La existencia no permite la perfección, porque la perfección es muy monótona. Piensa simplemente en lo que es vivir con una persona perfecta... Después de veinticuatro horas te suicidarás. ¿Vivir con una persona perfecta? ¿Cómo sería tu vida? Él sería casi como una estatua de mármol: muerto. Cuando una persona se vuelve perfecta está muerta. Una persona viva nunca es perfecta, y mi enseñanza tiende básicamente hacia la totalidad y no hacia la perfección.

Se total y recuerda la diferencia. El ideal de la perfección dice: “Se de esta manera, sin ira, sin celos, sin ser posesivo, sin imperfecciones, sin limitaciones”. El ideal de la totalidad es completamente diferente: si estás enojado, enójate completamente. Si amas, ama por completo. Si estás triste, entristécete completamente. Nada se deniega, únicamente lo parcial se tiene que dejar y así una persona se vuelve hermosa. Una persona total es hermosa. Una persona perfecta está muerta.

No estoy tratando de crear mahatmas aquí. ¡Ya está bien! Esos mahatmas ya han hecho suficientes tonterías en el mundo. Necesitamos gente hermosa, floreciente, fluida, vital. Sí, algunas veces se pondrán tristes, pero ¿qué hay de malo en sentirse triste? Algunas veces se enojarán, pero ¿qué hay de malo en sentirse enojado de vez en cuando? Esto simplemente indica que estás vivo, que no eres una cosa muerta, que no eres un leño a la deriva. Algunas veces peleas, algunas veces lo dejas correr, tal como cambian los climas: algunas veces está lluvioso y lleno de nubes, otras veces está soleado y las nubes han desparecido. Además se necesitan todas las estaciones: la fría, la caliente, el invierno, el verano; todas las estaciones son necesarias. Y el hombre real, el hombre auténtico tiene todos los climas en su ser, sólo que con un punto de atención: cualquier cosa que hace, la tendría que hacer completamente y con plena atención; eso es todo, es suficiente: ahí tienes una hermosa persona.

Tu eres el responsable

Todo el mundo es responsable, totalmente responsable de su propio ser y su conducta. Al principio, te resultará deprimente ser tú el responsable, porque siempre has pensado que querías ser feliz... ¿cómo vas a ser tú el responsable de tu infelicidad? Tú siempre has querido estar en paz... ¿cómo vas a ponerte furioso tú solo? Y por eso echas las culpas a otro.
Si sigues echando las culpas a otros, recuerda que seguirás siempre siendo, un esclavo, porque nadie puede cambiar a los demás. ¿Cómo vas a cambiar a otro? ¿Alguien ha cambiado alguna vez a otro? Uno de los deseos más incumplidos del mundo es el de cambiar a otro. Nadie lo ha conseguido jamás. Es imposible, porque el otro tiene su propia existencia y tú no puedes cambiarle. Puedes echarle las culpas al otro, pero no puedes cambiarle. Y como le has echado la culpa al otro, nunca te darás cuenta de que la responsabilidad básica es tuya. El cambio básico que se necesita hay que hacerlo en tu interior.
Así es como quedas atrapado: si empiezas a pensar que eres el responsable de todas tus acciones; de todos tus estados de ánimo, al principio te sentirás muy deprimido. Pero si eres capaz de superar esa depresión, pronto te sentirás más ligero, porque te has liberado de los demás. Ahora puedes actuar por tu propia cuenta.
Puedes ser libre; puedes ser feliz. Aunque todo el mundo sea desdichado y no sea libre, para ti será igual. Y la primera libertad consiste en dejar de echar las culpas a otros; la primera libertad consiste en saber que el responsable eres tú. Entonces muchas cosas se hacen posibles de inmediato.

Emociones negativas y positivas

Siempre que hay alegría, te parece que llega de fuera. Te has encontrado con un amigo; por supuesto, parece que la alegría viene de tu amigo, de verle. Eso no es lo que sucede realmente. La alegría está siempre dentro de ti. El amigo se ha vuelto simplemente una situación. El amigo la ha ayudado a salir, te ha ayudado a verla, a ver que está ahí. Y esto no pasa sólo con la alegría, sino con todo: con la ira, con la tristeza, con la desdicha, con la felicidad... es así con todo. Los demás son tan sólo situaciones en las que las cosas que están ocultas en ti se expresan. Los demás no son las causas; no están causando algo en ti. Cualquier cosa que está sucediendo, te está sucediendo a ti. Siempre ha estado ahí; es sólo que encontrarte con este amigo se ha vuelto una situación en la que lo que estaba oculto ha salido a la vista: ha salido. Desde las fuentes ocultas se ha vuelto visible, manifiesto. Siempre que pase esto, permanece centrado en la sensación interna, y entonces tendrás una actitud diferente con respecto a todo en la vida.
Incluso con las emociones negativas, haz esto. Cuando estés enfadado, no te centres en la persona que ha suscitado la ira. Deja que esté en la periferia. Simplemente vuélvete la ira. Siente la ira en su totalidad; permite que suceda dentro de ti. No la racionalices; no digas que este hombre la ha creado. No le condenes. Él ha sido simplemente la situación. Y siente gratitud hacia él, que ha ayudado a que algo que estaba oculto salga a la vista. Te ha golpeado en alguna parte, y había una herida oculta ahí. Ahora lo sabes, así que vuélvete la herida.
Con una emoción negativa o positiva, con cualquier emoción, úsala, y se producirá un gran cambio en ti. Si la emoción es negativa, te liberarás de ella tomando consciencia de que está dentro de ti. Si la emoción es positiva, te volverás la emoción misma. Si es alegría, te volverás alegría. Si es ira, la ira se disolverá.
